Holdin’ On Lyrics by A-Rushh

Eternally Proud - EP

2017

I’ll keep holdin on
Two Hs man…
[Verse 1]
I’m tired hearin’ Russell, man I know how you feel
Cause every time I hear it, everybody disappears
Am I walking on my hands? Cause I don’t know how to heal
I be lyin’ every year sayin’ this is my year
It’s been over half a year since my little sister died
I don’t really talk about it, but I’ll tell you through these rhymes
That my outerwear fresh, but I’m fucked up inside
Longest fight ever, no homies ringside
But Cassey you amazing graduating, you a nurse now
Everything you do, I know you doin’ it for her now
You tweeted, “time doesn’t heal, it’s bullshit” - I agree
But you stayed focused, got degrees and that inspires me
To be a better man, to keep on holdin’ on
Chelsea had a heart cause you the one she stole it from
We gon’ do our best, to keep on rollin’ on
I was ‘bout to give up, until I wrote this song like
[Hook]
I’ll keep holdin’ on
If I’m ever feelin’ out of place
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Gotta think about the fight you gave
I’ll keep holdin’ on
I will never let go of my faith
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Hands folded, holdin’ on as we pray
Nothing had the chance to be good
Nothing ever could, yeah
[Verse 2]
I hate it when the mirror’s showin that I am a stranger
Sometimes I don’t hate it when I’m feelin’ I’m in danger
The way I deal with death, man I guess it’s human nature
I’m still feelin’ cold even if you melt the glaciers
I’m walkin’ through The Grove, I used to think these people rich
But now I know there’s pain in people you don’t see exist
I’m in war with myself, but I never did enlist
And I do not want to die cause that shit’s expensive
The more I follow dreams, man the more I walk alone
You might not relate to me, but every artist knows
That everybody loves you when you preppin’ all your plans
But when you hangin’ on a cliff, they steppin’ on your hands
I’m hidin’ insecurities, you call it showin’ off
I’m waitin’ on my moment, but I think that moment gone
But when I think of Chelsea, man I got it goin’ on
Ask me how I’m doing and I’ll tell you holdin’ on like
[Hook]
I’ll keep holdin’ on
If I’m ever feelin’ out of place
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Gotta think about the fight you gave
I’ll keep holdin’ on
I will never let go of my faith
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Hands folded, holdin’ on as we pray
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Pray
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Pray
I’ll keep holdin’ on
I’ll keep holdin’ on
Nothing had the chance to be good
Nothing ever could, yeah
