Don’t Look Down Lyrics by Aaron California

2022

[Verse}
When you look at me what do you see?
I see a kid without a college degree
I see continuation schools and GEDs
I see a white rapper barely getting fifteen streams
I can't believe he thought he'd rip these beats
Who even plays that little prick? He stinks
Back in the day he used to grip his heat
Think he was better off then, should go and hit these streets
I gotta come up with a gameplan, trynna live right
Swear I really am a changed man, working every night
Now it's driving me insane and I'm not sure what to do but
Chase another paycheck, got too much to lose
It's a problem, climbing to the top risks falling
Trying to avoid the cops and brick walls
I'm trying to make wads, play cards with big bosses
Puffing a cigar while counting big profits
[Hook]
You hope that I would fail? Well don't look now
Took the wind out of your sails and hope you drown
I'm doing whatever it takes, put in work - get paid
Wanna meet me face to face? Then don't look down
Don't look down, don't look down
I'm doing whatever it takes, put in work - get paid
Wanna meet me face to face? Then don't look down
Don't look down, I'm saying don't look down
I'm doing whatever it takes, put in work - get paid
Wanna meet me face to face? Then don't look down
Don't look down, homie don't look down
I'm doing whatever it takes, put in work - get paid
Wanna meet me face to face? Then
[Verse]
I remember selling little bags of some green stuff
Had a funny smell to it, didn't think it'd mean much
I was just a kid and I knew it wasn't safe
But I had to scrape some change up to pay for my paid lunch
Every other day I would trade for a juice box
Now I keep the tools of my trade in a toolbox
Now I keep the funds that I made in a shoebox
And I am not a killer but don't make me quote Tupac
Grew up eating microwave dinners off some cardboard
Hard to count sheep when you're sleeping on a hard floor
Now I'm eating all the ramen, even if I want more
Broke boy, balling on a budget as an artform
Trynna buy a mansion where all my homies fit inside it
Everybody else call first, I don't like surprises
Ruger in the headboard for anyone who's not invited
Y'all can come and get it anytime you're feeling suicidal
