And the funniest part was that nobody knew that we were there

And, instantly, you knew the way
We were heading to what once was your house
The one you constantly talked about
You said it was the stage of the finest moments of your life
You said you were happier there than when you lived in France
Your marriage was still intact
Your kids were growing
You were nervous, which was new to me
All I could do was to quietly follow your lead
You clapped your hands and the current owner walked through the door
A blonde woman whose face was in shock
She knew who you were
She let us enter so gently it seemed like she forgot it was her own house now for a second
And as she told us about her life in the house – a story not as great as yours
Your face quickly turned into disappointment
Even if I wasn't alive the time lapse you lived there
I was sure you would never have it in that state
Like all the things you had to hand down
It lost its spark
Half an hour later, we went to Playa Mansa
Eating pastry two blocks away from the tragedy
The sand was still there
The water still waved
The beach is its own owner
What I learned from this is to never look back
A battle that I still have to fight
Now we have nothing but to keep on dreaming of Denmark
Your future husband from a small town near Copenhagen
And a house that you'll keep by yourself until your very last day
