Backwards Directions (2023) Lyrics by Abby Sage

2023

[Verse 1: Abby Sage]
It's true, I got a dirty mouth
Do you think about the things I do?
When it's judgement hour and I never knew
It's true, I got a dirty mouth
Do you think about the things I do?
When it's judgement hour and I never knew
[Chorus: Abby Sage]
I've been running backwards directions
Hold my hand, accept my confession
I've been spinning in and out again
[Post-Chorus: Abby Sage]
And I never knew
And I never knew
And I never knew
[Verse 2: Porches]
Jack the bike
Watch you gashing and the sun sets slow
Nice try, think fast, don't change inside
Are you bouncing off the bench?
Big sky, big eyes, big lеdge, watch
[Bridge: Porches]
Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump
I will land it for my friends
Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump
And I don't know wherе I am
Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump
And I never knew
Jump, jump, jump, jump, jump
That's what I'm supposed to do
[Verse 3: Abby Sage]
Let me pull my hair back
And put me on a better track
My lungs are full, a little burnt
But yours, I know are much worse
Let me get my story straight
I'll find you in another place
The game is rigged, I want my prize
I guess I'll just take first place
[Chorus: Abby Sage]
I've been running backwards directions
Hold my hand, accept my confession
I've been spinning in and out again
And I never knew
I've been running backwards directions
Hold my hand, accept my confession
I've been spinning in and out again
[Post-Chorus: Abby Sage]
And I never knew
And I never knew
