Day of the Locust Lyrics by ACCVSED

Avoider - Single

2024

I'll take the pain, it's the only way to feel alive
No getting out of here, show me the truth tonight
Finding peace when the curtain falls
There's comfort in the thought of losing it all
Like a cancer that spreads, it comes back every time
I will end this tonight, shed my skin
When my demons take over
At the day of the locust
In the eye of the storm, I'd die to be reborn
Shed my skin
Caught in the swarm, it's drawing me in
Like carrion, pick mе apart, go on feed on my past
Jaded!
With a look of disdain I'm facing the mirror 'til all reason has–
Fadеd!
I'm embracing the bloodshed, too long I hid all my scars
The feeling gets stronger now
In a tunnel of the darkest matter
Strangers passing by
I don't know how but next time I'll do it better!
♪
I swear, I swear
Take me out of here to shed my skin
When my demons take over
At the day of the locust
In the eye of the storm, I'd die to be reborn
Shed my skin
Why can't I show myself?
Why can't I show myself?
In the eye of the storm, I'd die to be reborn
Shed my skin
I'll slip through the cracks
Don't want another chance
I just can't express, I need to confess
"I can't look at myself"

Why can't I love? Why can't I show myself?
