What They Were Going on About Lyrics by Adyn Townes

In Frames

2020

[Verse 1]
There's need to panic, make no mistake
The harder that I tried the more I had to wait
Too many hold ups, so much red tape
It felt like living in a permanent delay
[Pre-Chorus]
My friends they told me "you'll find it soon"
A theory that was sound but had a lack of proof
But all that static led me to you
[Chorus]
I never knew what they were going on about
I never knew what they were going on about
I never knew what they were going on about
[Verse 2]
There's no short answеrs, no easy fix
A string of hypotheticals that nevеr fit
Too many roadblocks, not well equipped
They'll worry that your heart might not exist
[Pre-Chorus]
My friends they told me "you'll find it soon"
I promise that went over like a led balloon
But all that nonsense led me to you
Oh I
[Refrain]
I always figured you were out there but I had my doubts
The more that I looked on the bright side the more I burned out
You'll know it when you see it but 'til I met you
[Chorus]
I never knew what they were going on about
I never knew what they were going on about
Oh
I never knew what they were going on about
[Refrain]
I always figured you were out there but I had my doubts
The more that I looked on the bright side the more I burned out
You'll know it when you see it but 'til I met you
[Chorus]
I never knew what they were going on about
I never knew what they were going on about
Oh
I never knew what they were going on about
Ooh
I never knew
Oh
I never knew what they were going on about
