The Way We Were Lyrics by AJ Schinco

Venice

2023

[Verse 1}
Salt air
Ocean waves covering me just how you're holding me
Suffocation
Isolation
Why are you holding me like water in your hands?
[Chorus}
You know, you used to love me
So why can't we go to the way we were?
Oh, the way we were
I'll take what I will get
You know, it's not much
But I will hurt myself just for your touch
{Verse 2]
I changed myself just for you
I turned into the color blue
Because I'm sick and I wanna be flying
But every time my walls break down, I build a new "mе" as strong as stone
A "me" you'll nevеr meet
[Chorus]
You know, you used to love me
So why can't we go to the way we were?
Oh, the way we were
I'll take what I will get
You know, it's not much
But I will hurt myself just for your touch
{Outro}
It's time to let go
It's time for me to be the one who's leaving
I know I made promises, but I'm just too weak
I'll promise you I'll keep your memory
