Dreamer Lyrics by Aldrich Mercado

RAW - EP

2019

[Intro]
*Door opens and slams shut*
*Engine starts*
Check, check, alright
(Yo, yo, check
Check, 1, 2)
Yeah there it is
*Engine revs*
Listen man, if you ain't got a dream you ain't living for nothing
Feel me?
*Car races off*
(Own that **** baby)
Alright
[Chorus]
I’m a dreamer
Wish upon a star, visions of my name up in the lights
I’m a dreamer
In my car, speeding through these sleepless nights
I’m a dreamer
Minds up in the clouds, never dropping from these heights
I’m a dreamer
Soon as I was born I spread my wings and I took flight
[Verse 1]
My mind’s my greatest asset
Influenced by my passions
I imagine
I’ve been fashioned
To examine
Your attractions
Testing out my techniques
Treasures in my temple, letting both my dome and chest speak
Not tempted by the trending topics, man those don’t impress me
What’s a mumble to a mastermind whose tongue’s been set free
Flipping through the kick drums, Edgar Allen Jet Li
You Poe’boys getting sandwiched by my words, come on let’s eat
That’s some - food for thought where music’s gotten empty
Lyrics sitting stagnant
Gaining traction
This is madness
Rooted in but missing branches
Satisfaction staring at an empty canvas
Aimless habits
Lazy laying waste, I might just get abrasive with my language
Time to make some changes on this crazy planet
Invade your minds and take advantage
Rewind, reverse the damage
My rap’s a bandage
Patching up the heads on kids - it’s cabbage
(Got a Dollar and a Dream)
Dolls and a dream talk, word to Jermaine
Even when I die, my dreams will remain
[Verse 2]
A little kid so innocent
That’s where we all began
Then we shot up and got caught up
In the world and its demands
I don’t understand
The commitment to a trend
Of anti social nepotism, who’s really your friend?
Power hungry, tryna make your way up social ladders
Relationships don’t matter
Long as your pockets are getting fatter
So fat that they weigh you down
Go ahead and stay on ground
But you better say your prayers now
Dear God I’ll make you proud
Flying is a miracle
I’m lyrically gifted
God visited and blessed me with wings just to keep me uplifted
Can’t let my mind become imprisoned
Only bars that I will stand behind are ones that I have written
20/20 from a distance
I see all that He’s envisioned
And it’s my job to bring it to existence
Through the minds of people listenin'
That’s my mission
On my Lennon
Making lemonade from lemons
I’m a legend
Forever blessed from heaven
Hopeful that we’ll turn back in the right direction
Yeah, uhh, hey
I’m a dreamer
Soon as I was born I spread my wings and I took flight
I'm a dreamer
*Alarm clock rings*
