Next Best Thing Lyrics by Alex Lear

Memorywall

0

[Chorus]
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
[Verse 1]
She was a dancer like her mother was before
My jaw fell in intimidation
Well aware of my limitations
They threw themselves at her as I stood against the wall
Waiting until her invitation
To come engage her in conversation
[Chorus]
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
[Verse 2]
We walked togethеr 'til the night turned into day
She was looking for inspiration
And shе fueled my imagination
I had to find a pen before these ideas slipped away
I was on the verge of creation
But she felt the urge of temptation
And no excuse of mine could make her stay
[Chorus]
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around
[Verse 3]
This time I'm looking for one good omen
That will lead to the perfect woman
Against whom all the others won't compare
It used to be that I'd drive them wild
They'd lean on me like a motherless child
Now I'd give anything to go back there
To go back there
[Chorus]
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
Any day now, any day now
The next best thing is gonna come around that door
