Use their power to watch television,
MAYBE read until they fall asleep,
Wake up, take a shower, wash, rinse, repeat,
Next day, sneak out through the garage,
Maybe waving "hi"
Avoiding any conversation or contact with the eye,
And all this isolation puts stress on the family unit,
People aren't meant to be boxed up,
Alone cause of the union of marriage,
In which they place all their faith,
Saying "To let the gays do it, well that seems unsafe"
But the real danger comes from only trusting in one other,
And this lack of variety can make a person's life feel smothered.
So what do you do? Take nothing and make much ado.
Make your houses perfect and your job prestigious,
Put your life into making millions, thinking "Save me Regis!"
Buy a bigger house, buy some more security,
Cause with money comes isolation and isolation uncertainty.
Meanwhile, let's transition as all this unfurls,
To a place in the third world,
Location? Pretty rural.
Problems? I say it plural,
Cause the water isn't running,
But the politicians are and they're taking all the money.
And the educated stay away, Who can really blame 'em?
Why go back when you already worked hard and came up.
I don't bring this up to guilt trip,
Simply to draw a contrast,
'Cause people here aren't always thinking how long is it gonna last.
They're thinking of each other.
Of their neighbors and their family,
And if anyone gets sick they get watched more than the channel "E!"
Cables carrying currents might not come into their home,
But love does.
I mean more than primal screams and groans.
I mean friendship, compassion, smiling when they're passing,
And meaning how are you when they're asking.
Without screens and phones comes more time together,
But more storms to weather,
I'm not saying it's better,
I'm saying that you're all my brethren.
And there are some who appreciate that more.
First World Problems was never meant this real before.
