Second Christmas Day Lyrics by Alfie Jukes

2024

[Verse 1]
It's December in the city, but the cold's not new to me
I'm counting down the hours, staring at the tree
Turn on the radio, and it's our favourite track
But it's not the same until you're back
[Chorus]
So, kiss my hand, and take the jump
We'll watch TV and get wine-drunk
While Santa Claus is busy in the front room
I'll be waiting on the hill
We'll walk around this park until
Snow is falling from the sky above you
Only the second Christmas day that I have loved you
[Post-Chorus]
(Mm-mm-mm, mm, mm-mm-mm)
[Verse 2]
I'll spin the Frank Sinatra vinyl while the minutes seem to crawl (Yes, they crawl)
I'll take a solo trip to a tinsel-covered mall
No place for jokes to land whеn you're this far away
So, I keep waiting for the day
Yeah, I'll keep waiting for thе mistletoe display
[Chorus]
So, kiss my hand, and take the jump
We'll watch TV and get wine-drunk
While Santa Claus is busy in the front room
I'll be waiting on the hill
We'll walk around this park until
Snow is falling from the sky above you
Only the second Christmas day that I have loved you
[Post-Chorus]
(Mm-mm-mm, mm, mm-mm-mm)
[Outro]
(It's December in the city, but the cold's not new to me)
Only the second Christmas day that I have loved you
