Borincana Lyrics by Alí Primera

Cuando nombro la poesía

0

Tu solitaria estrella, tu solitaria estrella
Con alfileres de lucha
Se va clavando en tu piel
Y es deber del borincano
De dar corazón y manos
Para no verla brillando
Como otra más en otra bandera
Borinquén, azul de tu mar caribe
Y un sentimiento que vive
Al sur de este continente
Borinquén, cometa de cola larga
Si hoy tu naranja es amarga
Se endulzará en la esperanza
Dilo como lo digas
Pero con tal que lo sueñes
Que tu esperanza está multiplicada
En la llovizna latinoamericana
Que mojará los pueblos libres
Te han quitado tu lengua
Borinquén, borincana
Más no podrán quitarte
También a tu mañana
Entre el Sol y la Luna
Cayó su cuerpo
Pero no el pensamiento de Alvizu Campos
Yo se que un día
El antillano mar azul y nuestro
Llegará cantando a tus arenas
Después se llevará
Para siempre tus cadenas
Eslabón por eslabón, borinquén
Se irá tu queja
Después abrirás
Tu hermosa boca borincana
Y cantarás tu himno concebido
En tu vientre de guitarra
Un canto sonoro y transparente
Cuando vuelva a crecerte otra vez
Tu lengua castellana
Te han quitado tu lengua
Borinquén, borincana
Más no podrán quitarte
También a tu mañana
Entre el Sol y la Luna
Cayó su cuerpo
Pero no el pensamiento de Alvizu Campos
Un jibarito caballo
Y una pelea de gallos
Cantando en la madrugada
Un son por tres que me parte el alma
Tu jibarito a caballo...
