Intro Lyrics by Allen York x The Trackoholics

2014

“One Shot for the city that we rep, bang
Harlem world you know I got us –
Two shots for the cities that I rep bang
407 I’ll rep us proper”
These are the first words on the tape. To me, an intro is more than just a cool song. It’s an… intro. Whether it be introducing a book, a person, a story, anything. The intro lays the foundation of the rest of the message
That’s what I wanted to do here, set the foundation. First thing people ask you as a rapper is ‘where you from/rep?’ I’m from a couple places. Born in Harlem and raised for a little before I moved to Central Florida, Kissimmee to be exact, BVL to be more exact(by Orlando, for context). I no longer feel the need to ‘chose one place to rep’. All of it has made me who I am, and being back in Harlem, the same area I was born and originally raised, it’s important for me to wear all hats
My verse goes into more detail into who I am, automatically I wanted to set the tone for the first time listeners so they can know the man behind the music
“Every rhyme is a capsule, in which I’ve frozen time
Never claim to be the heir apparent, I’m quite the loner
My strengths is that I’m transparent, got things to show ya
My conflicted soul, that’s dumb gifted”
That’s what this album is, a moment in time, given to you by someone who isn’t opening up to every one on a personal level, but will bare all in my music. Thats my strength, to know my music is to know me, and on some levels know yourself
“This is Happy Hour, we had a long week
Drinks is all we got, it makes is more sweet
Don’t be cheap, two for ones a beast
Make sure you tip you bar tender, that’s me”
I end it with tying in the Happy Hour theme and relating it to my artistry. I’m asking you not be cheap with your ears. 2 for 1 means there will be some double entendres in these raps, so giving me a ‘tip’ is giving me my props…
Welcome to Happy Hour. This is the intro:
