Lack of Trying Lyrics by Alyssa Newton

Stand Up Tall

2023

[Verse 1]
Being lonely ain't something I decided
It'd be cool to fall in love but you won't catch me crying
Oh no, I'm not, I'm not afraid to go on a date
For the sake of breaking silence
Never felt the fall but it's not for lack of trying
[Verse 2]
I've seen enough Hallmark movies, I know what I'm doing
I could be that girl if I had the chance to prove it
I don't know if the good ones are gone, the timing is wrong
Or if men are just that stupid
Can't tell if I've got reasons or excuses
[Chorus]
If I just knew who, if I just knew how
It wouldn't cross my mind to throw in the towel
I wouldn't be jеalous and worried about
All my friends who got therе first
If I just knew when, if I just knew why
It's taking so long, I'd take my time
Stop wondering if I just walked by the one who would've worked
[Post-Chorus]
(Oh, ohh)
(Ohh, oohh, oh)
[Verse 3]
All my friend say they see the silver lining
I got plenty of time but that don't mean I like it
Yeah, I've dug long enough, been through the rough
But I still don't got the diamond
I'm not in love but it's not for lack of trying
[Chorus]
If I just knew who, if I just knew how
It wouldn't cross my mind to throw in the towel
I wouldn't be jealous and worried about
All my friends who got there first
If I just knew when, if I just knew why
It's taking so long, I'd take my time
Stop wondering if I just walked by the one who would've worked
[Bridge]
If I just knew who, if I just knew how
[Chorus]
It wouldn't cross my mind to throw in the towel
I wouldn't be jealous and worried about
All my friends who got there first
If I just knew when, if I just knew why
It's taking so long, I'd take my time
Stop wondering if I just walked by the one who would've worked
[Outro]
If I just knew who, if I just knew how
If I just knew who, if I just knew how
