I listen to the news and mostly black people are victim

It's making humans feel worthless and screaming like "I can't breathe"
Rest in peace to George Floyd, sending prayers out to his family
Humanity is gone, equality is a catastrophe
Protect 'n serve, but all we get is tragedies and agony
Promoting peace, but I see nothing but police brutality

It gets you stuck in the dirt, it's time that we make a change
Although it eases the hurt, it doesn't erase the pain
Wash the blood of your shirt, but the wounds will remain the same
It gets you walking alert because humans be inhumane

People ain't born to hate, they are raised to become spiteful
Teaching it to their kids and then they continue the cycle
Never reading the book, only judging it by its title
At the end of the day, the system will leave you stifled

I'll never understand the truth and that is right because
I'll never understand the world for doing what it does
It's far from evolution, it led me to a conclusion
Ironically we are our own problem and solution
Supposedly the government was formed to protect us
But all they truly managed to afford is to depress us
And stress us and upset us with the ignorance they've shown
Over the years, so many tears, they left us struggling alone
I just heard police had shot a black man reaching for a gun
Or at least they claim so, just to justify they kill for fun
Took his life like it was nothing, he had a wife and a son
Unaware of all the pain they caused and damage they had done
I will probably get judged for speaking 'bout this cause I'm white
If it's not about the color of your skin, then how's that right?
We are not so different, see, because just like you I'm devoted
That is why I think we should have conversations blindfolded
