But this was my life in the 6th grade.
Getting picked on for getting picked up. After class I didn't use to ride the school bus.
Or maybe it was the shoes, or how I didn't wear what people labeled cool.
Didn't have a lot always got what was needed.
Couldn't win over my peers I felt defeated.
Then mom always said " Don't worry bout em, cause everybody ain't your friend."
That helped, then something else kicked in:
If I got to be fake to get em' I don't need em' in the end.
Ever since, straying away from the crowds.
People noticed how I stood out.
No more self doubt, so proud;
of who I was then the same goes for right now.
Don't let society label you the same.
Only you control the power of your name.
