The Great Beast of Dreams Lyrics by Asher Kai

The Beast

2023

I feel like a great beast
Taking shelter underneath of a tree
Nobody knows that her tooth and nail
Will be diggin’ for warmth in the snow
I feel like I am seen
As the great burden of a dream
Nobody wants to learn lessons now
Do they see me as somebody wise?
Pray those eyes
Offer lies
Pray those eyes
Offer lies
I feel desperate and mean
Lookin’ into the mirror at me
I’ll tilt the house and change the gravity
But the glass is gonna show what I fear
Pray these eyes
Offer lies
Pray these eyes
Offer lies
I feel like a great beast taking shelter under a beautiful tree
The world is the beauty I’d fantasize about
But my body is still the sore spot in my eyes
Drawn to my own figure, I obsess over myself
Dress myself and pride myself in physical form when I deem it deserved
Hide myself and cry about the skins I’ve shown when I deem it due
Like a mouse in a burrow, the stallion seeks shelter from the snow under the canopy
No one is safe from hardship, and nothing growing is inherently calm
As unfortunate as the weather may be
Sometimes there’s more than one way to brave the storm
Sometimes the storm comes from within
