Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego Lyrics by Asylum Street Spankers

0

Now there were three children from the land of Israel
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Took a little trip to the land of Babylon
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Now Nebuchadnezzar was the King of Babylon
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Took a lotta gold and made him ann Idol
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Well he told everybody when you hear the music of the Covenant. (Oh yeah)
Well he told everybody when you hear the music of the True. (Oo-oo)
Well he told everybody when you hear the music of the Ho-o-oly
You gotta, gotta bow down and worship the Idol
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
But the Children of Israel would not bow down
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
You couldn't fool 'em with a golden Idol
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
I said you couldn't fool 'em with a golden Idol
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
So the King put the Children in a red hot furnace. Praise God
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Had heaped on Coal and red-hot Bri-i-imstone
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Had it seven times hotter, hotter than it ought to be- so the Good Book says
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Even burned up the Soldiers the King had put there
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Oh Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego. Whoa
Well the Lord God made Him an Angel
And He gave him golden Wings
And he came down to the middle of the furnace to try and cool the flames
Oh them Children they got so happy
They went strong right through the fire
Just a laughing and a talking 'bout the Power of the Gospel
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Oh Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego. Whoa
Then Old Nebuchadnezzar said 'Hey there!'
When he saw the power of the Lord
And they had a great time in the land of Babylon
Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Oh Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego-o-o
