Welcome to Camp Averno Lyrics by Averno

Welcome to Camp Averno (Single)

2020

[Verse 1]
Have you ever felt homesick for places unknown?
Or forgotten your friends, only you could see it now that you’re grown?
What if I told you that they never left?
In school, did your eyes wander right at the window
To forests and creatures that buried the home in your heart?
You haven’t grown up yet, you’re ready to start?
[Chorus]
And oh, you know
That the worlds that you built in your mind as a kid
Are overgrown
But the forest takes care of its own at Camp Averno
[Verse 2]
Wander the forests and stray from the path
Discover a species, decipher a language unknown
Just follow the river and see where it goes
Attics and mysteries, teachers and history
Find a new family, the courage to believe what you know
They say change of scenery helps you to grow
[Chorus]
And oh you know
That the worlds that you built in your mind as a kid
Are overgrown
But the forest takes care of its own at Camp Averno
[Bridge]
In truth, I thought my fate was sealed
A lifetime underwater
In truth, I can't decide if I’m actually alive
I can't be the only one to know that there is something more than this
It’s been there all along
[Outro]
Have you ever felt homesick for places unknown?
Or forgotten your friends, only you could see it now that you’re grown?
What if I told you that they never left?
