a pile of shit with a cherry on top Lyrics by Bax

floating high and sinking low

2023

Do you see
The lie in the trees?
All we’ve made
Is a pile of shit with a cherry on top
But everybody looks away
How the hell was this somebody’s dream?
The angles hurt the eyes
And all the lines are cutting ties
Nothing seems to matter while the clatter goes on
And on and on and on
But if you could put it all in the palm of your hand
Then maybe you would understand
Does anyone give a fuck?
Cause I can’t find a single person around
And what does it mean to have luck
When еmptiness is all there is to bе found?
Why do we always buy into the lie?
Take it all away
Get it out of my sight
Tired of giving in
To every instant delight
It’s ugly in the day
And It's uglier at night
Is there a way to navigate
A world that cannot satiate?
Well, everything is hideous
The architecture’s gone
The markings are insidious
And everything is wrong
Between the dogs barking and the lawn mowers
And the boxes rolling by
And the weed whackers and the leaf blowers
And the boxes in the sky
I’ve got nowhere to go
To be at peace
