It Is Finished Lyrics by Ben S Dixon

Oh Propitiation

0

[Intro]
It is finished the war is won
The war is won
The war is won
[Verse 1]
It is us, it is us
Fallen, guilty
Deserving of hell are we
It was us, it was us
We broke all God's commands
Our blood righteousness demands
We are not worthy to
Be His door keeper
Or the bride He was to choose
Our best works still fall short
Yes dirty we are
Yet He says I'll bare the cross for you
[Pre-Chorus 1]
This sin weighs
Destroys me
Yet Jesus bore my shame
When He said
[Chorus]
It is finished
The war is won
Sin has been defeated
Crushed under the foot of God
It is finished
He's overcome
Death was done away with
On the cross the victory was won
[Verse 2]
Sin's grip was upon us
Enslaving, condemning
Destroying, oppressing
Our shame was within us
Confining, constricting
We were walking, lifeless things
His death was our lives bought
Slaves no more of sin
The curse was broken
No longer distanced from
Our loving God
For He sent His
One and only Son
[Pre-Chorus 2]
This guilt weighs
Distanced me
Yet Jesus bore my shame
When He said
[Chorus]
It is finished
The war is won
Sin has been defeated
Crushed under the foot of God
It is finished
He's overcome
Death was done away with
On the cross the victory was won
Sin, you already lost
When my God went to the cross
With His last dying breath
It was done
[Breakdown]
It was done
[Post-Breakdown]
It is finished
The war is won
It is finished
He's overcome
It is finished
The war is won
It is finished
He's overcome
[Chorus]
It is finished
The war is won
Sin has been defeated
Crushed under the foot of God
It is finished
He's overcome
Death was done away with
On the cross the victory was won
[Outro]
It is finished
It is finished
It is finished
It is done
It is finished
It is finished
It is finished
