[Chorus] I've been through the fire and it made me great I'll go back again if it's what it takes Would say it was nothin, but it cost a lot When you're going through the flames tryna make it out [Verse 1] Took a fiery dart Straight to the heart This like the middle of the story but it's where ima start The only light I see is the flame that's burning me Demons waiting in line to take a turn on me Friends turnin' on me Switchin' up Thinkin bout givin up My karma's catchin up It's gone take more than luck To get me out of this I'm not down for this How do I counter this? On my counter, there's a Bible In my head, there's a spiral I have made so many idols Should I bow down? I am desperate for survival Started praying again and it only got hotter But this that 09' Ye, what don't kill ya make you stronger (iii) [Chorus] I've been through the fire and it made me great (It made me great) I'll go back again if it's what it takes (Do what it takes) Would say it was nothin but it cost a lot (It cost a lot) When you're going through the flames tryna make it out [Post-Chorus] I been through the fire Now I'm only shining brighter, ayy, ayy I been through the fire Found out that the devil was a liar (Devil is a liar) [Verse 2] Woke up from the schemes Woke up, time to dream Yes I'm really free, this the song of the redeemed Everything's not what you thought Now when I say I'm great it's cause the greatness of God I reflect I'm the head not the tail I ain't got no debt So go on and send your threats I'm good, I'm blessed Last time I checked the devils under my feet Took an L but now I got the victory with me, ahh [Chorus] I've been through the fire and it made me great (It made me great) I'll go back again if it's what it takes (Do what it takes) Would say it was nothin but it cost a lot (It cost a lot) When you're going through the flames tryna make it out [Post-Chorus] I been through the fire Now I'm only shining brighter, ayy, ayy I been through the fire Found out that the devil was a liar (Devil is a liar) [Bridge] I see how they lied to me Stripped away all my belief Did their best to hide the key But God was always on my side Send your threats, I will not blink Focused on my destiny I'm not scared of fire A greater kind of fire lives inside of me [Chorus] I've been through the fire and it made me great I'll go back again if it's what it takes (I'll go back again) Would say it was nothin but it cost a lot (It cost a lot) When you're going through the flames tryna make it out [Post-Chorus] I been through the fire Now I'm only shining brighter, ayy, ayy I been through the fire Found out that the devil was a liar, yeah yeah yeah yeah [Outro] I've been through the fire and I'm still alive Out here shining brighter like 7 times I've been through the fire and I'm still alive Unless God says so, I won't die Unless God says so, I won't die
