Tell Your Friends Lyrics by Best Ex

With a Smile

2023

[Verse 1]
I always knew you'd replace me
With a girl who is younger and easy
She don't speak too much
Let you do what you want
As you live in the fantasy
That you made up
I always felt a bit sorry
For all of the girls who came after me
Did they know they signed up
To be a single mom
To a 30-year-old who already has one?
[Chorus]
So, you can tell your friends I'm crazy
I think that they already hate me
I didn't know all the knots I was tying to you
Weighed down my wings
And I didn't know all the shit that you put me through
Was you setting me free
[Verse 2]
I tried to fit my life into yours
In the coastal town you grew up in
Feet in thе sand, I dove headfirst
Into a fishbowl I thought was the ocеan
[Chorus]
So, you can tell your friends I'm crazy
I think that they already hate me
I didn't know all the knots I was tying to you
Weighed down my wings
And I didn't know all the shit that you put me through
Was you setting me free
[Bridge]
Now when someone's in your bed
Do they know the things I know?
How I climbed down to sit with you
In your darkest, deepest hole
Put up pictures in your lowest of lows
When I lifted you up, left me down here alone
With a suitcase of photos and doubts
Don't know how I got out
Don't know how I got out
[Chorus]
So, you can tell your friends I'm crazy
I think that they already hate me
I didn't know all the knots I was tying to you
Weighed down my wings
And I didn't know all the shit that you put me through
Was you setting me free
[Outro]
So you can try to erase me
Invent some reason to hate me
I didn't know all the shit that you put me through
Was you setting me free
