Lay It Down Lyrics by Bev Foster

Trustpoints

2004

Lay It Down
[VERSE 1]
I lay down what’s behind, “It is finished” is Your cry
I lay down what’s behind, it is nailed to the cross
Lift me up to press on and take hold of the prize
A forever love with Your Son. I lay it down
[VERSE 2]
I lay down what I hold, lose the grip on my life
I lay down what I hold, it’s Yours alone
Lift me up to press on and take hold of the prize
A forever life with Your Son
[Chorus]
By His grace, amazing grace, His Spirit lives in me
By His love, His breath of love
I’m recreated, raised to new life in Jesus Christ
[VERSE 3]
I lay down what’s ahead, “Trust in me” is Your call
I lay down what’s ahead, I bеlieve in Your ways
Lift me up to prеss on and take hold of the prize
A forever hope in Your Son
[Chorus]
By His grace, amazing grace, His Spirit lives in me
By His love, His breath of love
I’m recreated, raised to new life in Jesus Christ
[VERSE 4]
Lay it down what’s behind, lay it down what you hold
Lay it down what’s ahead. Be raised up to new life
Forever love, forever life, forever hope
I'll lay it down
Oh, I’ll lay it down
I'll lay it down
