Words of Wisdom Lyrics by Black The Ripper

The Edmonton Dream

2009

Hear my Words of wisdom
I write rhymes for conscious minds
Who feel the same as me about this
Black on black crime because bare man are dying
But nobodies learning the fire keeps burning
Are we going to open their eyes I don't know
We are walking around blind I swear
There's bare man doing time there's bare man that
Sing and do grime there's bare man that rap and that
Bare man that back a strap but if you check the facts they're all lying
Its one big hype these roads are a mess so I roll with a vest
Just in case people try it shouldn't be like this
But Im afraid it is and these days we got kids raising kids
Daddy ain't around cause mommy don't know who he is
It could be anyone bare niggas rolled through that crib
And if we are fuck up there's no hope for the kids all they know is
Bang bang and poke him in the ribs bunking off school rollin in a spliff
Its hopeless but how can you blame them when their parents are jokers
We are lacking guidance suffering in silence getting harassed by trident
They say we are young black and violent all this hard work for what my boy got
A degree and he still can't get a job so what you think this is
We need to fix up and start thinking rich cause times are hard
And credit crunch is a bitch everyone is cheering for obama like
He is going to fly to london and solve all our dramas
Its ridiculous in fact I'm getting sick of this
We are living in hell right now god's my witness
I'm not a rapper I'm a revolutionist I'm nothing like
Ludacris I'm more like Huey newton in this
Fist in the air fuck the police I ain't shuttin up
Take me away in cuffs if you please damn
What happened to my freedom of speech we are trapped in the
Belly of the beast surrounded by police surrounded by beef
Surrounded by guns knifes and girls with low self esteem
I'm just trying to live the edmonton dream
But niggas round here do some irrelevant things
You'll get shanked on sight and left dead at the scene
Rest in peace michael, rest in peace juda
Rest in peace Ike And all of my other brothers that died
I can't begin to feel the pain of all the mothers that cried
I went insane in my brain when I heard my cousin die
And from that night I switched
I just say what I like so I'm addressing real issues
Stressing real issues most people can't listen because they are
Brainwashed and conditioned by media and television
In this society you need guys like me to provide my words of wisdom
