Mediocre At Best Lyrics by Brand New Friend

Seatbelts For Aeroplanes

2018

[Verse 1]
Nice to meet you, I'm a mess
Projecting mirrors of smiles and of fake confidence
Denim jacket on your chest
I pretend to be cool, mediocre at best
And I'm hoping you don't see what I feel on the inside and perceive to be me
The last record you bought for me was In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
[Chorus]
I go out of my way to make you feel at home
And when your chest gets tight and you're feeling alone
You don't have to relate, you don't have to pretend
I just want you to feel better again
[Verse 2]
I don't think I'd be me if I didn't doubt everything including me
And you get that and that's sad
And I know we'd do anything to have what we'd had
But we can't stay anymore, your dreams wash away on the floor
And I know that I miss you now, but I'll miss you forever
I'll miss you forever!
[Chorus]
I go out of my way to make you feel at home
And when your chest gets tight and you're feeling alone
You don't have to relate, you don't have to pretend
I just want you to feel better again
