Director Says Lyrics by Brendan Steere

Red Star

2016

[Verse 1]
Director says:
Don't make me choose (between my)
Vocation and my muse (I know it's not a)
Pretty song but I can't shake the tune
(And so we will)
Concoct a plan (a pact between)
A woman and a man (a meteor to)
Strike them down in hearts across the land
[Chorus]
But on afternoons from one-to-two when I
Am tangled up in you it's not
Just what we wanted but it's true
A failing play (becomes the nuts and)
Bolts of day to day (and so we both just)
Nod our heads and wait for fumbling prey
But jealous lies (cannot destroy the)
Mirage of your eyes (I cannot be the)
Perfect man, but darling I will try
[Chorus]
But on afternoons from one-to-two when I
Am tangled up with you it's not
Just what I wanted but it's true
But on afternoons from one-till-two when I
Am tangled up in you it's not
Just what you wanted but it's true
