Back to the Island Lyrics by Captain & Tennille

Dream

1978

Now i'm waking to the sun
And the softly whisper sounds of the water
A gentle breeze sings a song in my heart
It's good to know
My paradise was never really lost
And I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Hear the sea roll in
I'll be thinking of you
And being with you again
Hear the nightbird cry
Watch the sunset die
Well, I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to the island
Now the day is done
And I'm sitting here thinking of you
You know your smile always lives in my heart
It's good to know
You'll be here soon to share it all with me
And I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to thе island
And watch the sun go down
Hear the sеa roll in
I'll be thinking of you
And being with you again
Hear the nightbird cry
Watch the sunset die
Well, I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Hear the sea roll in
I'll be thinking of you
And being with you again
Hear the nightbird cry
Watch the sunset die
Well, I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Hear the sea roll in
I'll be thinking of you
And being with you again
Hear the nightbird cry
Watch the sunset die
Well, I'm glad you understand
I just had to go back to the island
