It is said that to tamper with the laws of creation is to threaten the very fabric of reality itself.
Time and time again, mortals chose to ignore these laws and test their fate in the face of annihilation.
Though none ever dared attempt control of their power and wield these forbidden arts.
The story of the dark Caster is one that resides within sorrow and tragedy.
A tragedy wherein a master of light bеcame a master of darkness.
Thе great tragedy of Lucienne.
In the grand age of magic and sorcery, there existed many covens and many spellcasters across the realm, each led by a supreme sorcerer.
But of all the grand casters, none could match the power of Lucienne: the caster of light.
Lucienne's coven was envied by all the others.
For under his tutelage, all who followed him were trained in the sacred art of light, which stood mightier than any elemental force.
Sensing the danger that loomed over them, Lucienne's council urged him to conquer the other supreme sorcerors, lest he risk their combined force against him.
Lucienne, in his wisdom, chose peace than to be consumed by the fear of conflict.
One day, a wounded mage arrives at the gates of Lucienne's castle.
He bears news of war between the casters of Wind and Earth.
Two supremes plunging forth their covens to be slaughtered.
All for the sake of their pride and power.
Knowing the horrors their covens face, Lucienne hastens toward the distant dominion in which the ongoing battle dwelled.
With his superior power, he stops the conflict between the two supremes and forces them to return to their lands.
Gazing upon the battlefield, his heart bleeds at the sight of the wounded, maimed and slain.
All for selfish ambition.
Lucienne's rage begins to rise.
In lieu of seeking retribution against the supremes, he instead remains on the battlefield to heal all who survived.
As Lucienne returns from his arduous voyage, he peers into the distance toward his castle, as his eyes widen in panic at the sight of flames and smog.
He rushes forth with great haste, fearing the fate of his coven.
Arriving to witness the catastrophe that has befell his home.
Lucienne weeps as he beholds the bodies of his slain pupils, falling to his knees.
He cries out in horror towards the smoke-stained sky.
A hand is placed on his shoulder.
As he looks back, he sees his love, Hecate, tattered from battle.
His councilor at her side, they recount to him the assault upon the castle by the casters of Fire and Ice.
The final act of a plot conspired by the four supremes, to draw him away from his coven, to weaken his power and his advantage over them.
An ominous silence washes over Lucienne.
A storm begins to rage in the skies, his eyes blood-red of madness.
Until finally, the fury within him erupts, shaking the earth itself.
And so, the seed of darkness had been planted.
Lucienne ascends into the sky and vanishes within the blackened clouds.
As time passes for many moons, Lucienne ventures across all the realm in search of three sacred artifacts.
Each granting him powers of the forbidden arts.
Powers unrivaled by any force, hidden away for the danger they possess to all reality.
And after much struggle, Lucienne finally had all that he required to exact terrible vengeance upon all the grand casters.
Without warning, Lucienne brings forth utter desolation to their castles and covens.
One by one, they were annihilated, his wrath blinding him to any innocence, the forbidden arts corrupting his mind and soul, the darkness taking hold at last.
In the wake of the devastation, Lucienne lingers over the barren wasteland left by his reckoning, numb to the atrocity he has committed.
But before he could comprehend all that had unfolded, he was attacked and restrained.
His body drained from the power he unleashed, there was no strength left within to defend himself.
Flattened upon the ground, he looks up to see the pleased grins of his council surrounding him, as Hecate appears among them, carrying the skull of a ram.
Her words finally revealing the truth, that it was they who conspired against them from the very beginning.
They who antagonized the conflict between the supremes, and who attacked his coven, tempting Lucienne to retrieve the forbidden artifacts, for only a master of light would have the power to find them.
And now, all that power shall be ripped away from him.
Suffering the weight of this betrayal from his companions and lover, Lucienne's mind, body, and soul shatters.
Empty of will, they cast a spell upon Lucienne, sealing him within a deep slumber beneath the earth.
Hecate places a ram's skull upon his head as the final slight against him, signifying his sacrifice as the cost for their ultimate power.
A true tragedy which changed the course of history, leaving only the remnants of Lucienne's coven to carry the knowledge of his story.
They and their descendants forever vowing to one day awaken their master, to summon him forth and against the usurpers who are so blindly worshipped.
And upon that day, the Advent Omen shall announce his return, as the coven gathers to witness his rise:
The rise of CASTER.
