dear old me Lyrics by CBmusic

the stages of heartbreak EP (Deluxe)

2023

[Verse 1]
Haven't read a picture book since I was nine
I start to see my personality decline
I start to see the bitter meaning of it all
As I grow older
Been used to crying at such a young age
I see my old self start to decay
Am I responsible for this fade?
Now that I'm older
[Chorus]
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
[Verse 2]
Oh, I start reflect on my past, I was so much worse
Oh, everybody focuses on the past and not the present
But you see, you showed up in my life, and claimed to be
Someone I haven't seen since I was 3, and start to control my life
(do it myself)
[Chorus]
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
I'm trynna do it myself
Better myself, trynna evolve
Isn't that who I'm supposed to be?
This ain't for dear old me
Which you don't see
[Outro]
Someone told me that good things don't last forever
That's what's happening to me
I'm sorry, you should know better
My personality changed, I got bigger
Which made you upset
But isn't that what happens to all of us?
