Don’t Forget About Me Lyrics by Chaz French

These Things Take Time

2015

[Verse 1]
Yeah look, Mama said knock you out, Mama said give your all
Mama said be a leader boy you got too much pride to be a follower
You’re way too smart I’m not allowing it
She said you’re one of a kind and it’s obvious
Everything you do I may not understand
But you kept your word and I’m proud of it
Mama said you look just like your daddy
From the faces you make down to your actions
From the women you pick to how long it lasts
I know I love too hard she know I love too fast
She respect my good she accept my bad
Helped out my future saw beyond my past
She said no matter how old you get I’ll still whoop your ass
But above all that just promise me one thing
[Hook]
Don’t forget about me, aye don’t forget about me
No matter how far you go she say don’t forget about me, don’t forget about me
No matter how much money you make she said
Don’t forget about me, aye don’t forget about me
When you need someone to call she said don’t forget about me, don’t forget about me
Don’t forget about me
[Verse 2]
First love want to knock me out, first love want to cut me off
First love said you never make the best decisions but that’s life when you follow your heart
First love want to get back in, but her heart won’t let her give in
First love said I won’t forget about you niether, but I can never forgive what you did
First love say you act just like my daddy, cause you’re barely even here but you always matter
And you put my feelings before your happiness
And you were always there to give it when I ain’t have it
You say we love too soon, say we love too fast
Say we love to hard baby that’s just magic
So when nothing ever works and push comes to shove
I just hope that you remember one thing
[Hook]
Don’t forget about me, aye don’t forget about me
No matter how far you go she say don’t forget about me, don’t forget about me
No matter how much money you make she said
Don’t forget about me, aye don’t forget about me
When you need someone to call she said don’t forget about me, don’t forget about me
Don’t forget about me
[Bridge]
I remember flying out to Cali when I was having meetings with the labels
Around the time I was living unstable
Living off Dre shit that was happy belated
I hit your phone on some late shit
Like what I gotta do to show these niggas that what I’m doing is major
And you said bae chill mane
You just hit a million on the playlist
Like you know how many niggas would kill to be there
Most niggas will never know how it feel to be there
You major, like damn baby you major
Them negatives turned out to be in your favor
[Outro (Segue into Sometimes)]
So don’t let me forget about you
Yeah, yeah because it takes two to make a memory
But you know that already, but you knew that already
Cause it be like that sometimes
Cause it be like that sometimes
I guess it be like that sometimes
You know it be like that sometimes
Sometimes
