When we did the first tour, I was the roadie for the first American tour, and we were in places like Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and we were like literally people from outer space
We'd have to stop at each roadside place, and I remember one place we stopped at where we just walked in as a group, and the whole place just broke into pieces
And they'd get control of themselves, 'cause we had to sit there and eat, you know, and
Wait for them to bring their stuff, and they would just get control, and then somebody
Would go, "Okay," and then the whole place would break down once again

And you had record companies willing to take a chance on something that didn't sound like everything else on the charts at the time?
Well, it was like, it was like, um, the musician-songwriter's heaven, in a sense, because, um, there just weren't that many games in town, you know, we were one of the few games in town
And you were writing, I imagine, what you felt in your heart, not what somebody told you they needed product in
I wasn't trying to do anything
Arthur wasn't trying to do anything, we were just more or less, if you'll excuse his expression, hanging out
