Dreams On My Back Lyrics by Chinko the Prophet

MINEFIELD

2010

[Verse 1]
I’m grinding hard, devouring the weak like Chompa
Life's a battlefield, I’m the last one standing
Some days I’m lost, feeling stuck like a stomp-a
But heart of a lion, man, I’m always expanding
Bad news hit, they thought I'd fold like a paper
But I’m spitting fire, call me every week’s savior
Ain’t no sugarcoatin’, man, I’m real like a caper
In the city’s jungle, I’ll be sharp like a razor
Ambition’s my weapon, it’s loaded and cocked
I hustle like I’m Jay, never pause, never stopped, I ain't no stoppa
[Chorus]
Yo, I'm grindin' like a motherfucka, can't you see?
Dreams on my back, heavy like a ton of bricks
Bitches on my dick, let's get it, let's get it
Chasin’ cheddar while the world’s tryin’ to cage me
They throw shade, but my fire’s lit, no tricks
[Verse 2]
Strugglin’ hard, dodgin' every curveball they throw
Life's a beast, but I’ll wrestle like the GOAT
I’m a beast in the lab, makin' beats for the low
Bad news hit me, but I rise like a boat
Ambition's the fuel, give me wings, I’m a jet
Heart on my sleeve, no regrets, just the grind
They throw dirt, but I bloom like a rose in the wet
In the storm, through the pain, never left behind
Every setback’s a setup for a motherfuckin’ win
I'm the underdog, yeah, fightin’ demons within
They doubt me, but I’m built like a diamond, not thin
[Verse 3]
I’m grindin’ through the madness, eyes on the prize
Can’t drown in the chaos, I’m built to survive
Bad news throwin’ shade, but I’ll rise, no lies
Ambition’s like a fire, it’s my soul’s drive
Flippin’ the script, man, watch me unleash
Strugglin’ with demons, never callin’ for peace
They said I wouldn’t make it, that I’m just a beast
But I’m feastin’ on this setback, now I’m ready to feast
Got that hustle in my veins, like a shot of pure rage
I’m turnin’ all this pain into words on the page
No phony ass clowns, this ain’t no damn stage
From the gutter to the throne, I’m breakin’ the cage
Every hater’s a lesson, every scar’s a gain
I’m a beast in this game; yeah, fuck what they claim
I rise like a phoenix, spittin' fire, no retreat
Got dreams in my pocket, ambition stampedes the weak
In the jungle of struggle, I’m the beast on this beat
With a heart like a lion, I’ll devour defeat
Bad news be creeping, but I’m slick as oil
Turn the dirt into diamonds from the sweat and the toil
Every setback’s a setup, watch me boil and bubble
Like a phoenix in the ashes, I embrace all the trouble
Can't drown me in hate, I'm the king of the hustle
I flex like I’m Iron Man, ready to tussle
These haters can front, but I’m built like a tank
While they wishin’ for luck, I’m busy building my rank
