slowly the two walked out into the street
they knew what was lying before them
as they stood separated by fifty feet.
Their eyes in a firm hawk-like stare
with guns strapped tightly to the hip
quickly sizing up their chosen foe
a little bit nervous, they bite their lip.
The hand so eager to pull the gun
they know, they must be the first
the shot must be straight and sure
to quensh their inner, bloodly thirst.
Soon the bell on the clock rings out
in a lightning blur the guns are pulled
which of the two will be the victor?
in the aftermath how will this be told?
The two shots ring out like thunder
the bullets aimed straight for the heart
as you know once you pull the trigger
you can't stop a bullet once it has start.
Think of words the same as bullets
once said, you can't take them back
words unleashed in moments of anger
will hurt as much as a physical attack.
Why is it when we feel we're threatened
with crippling words we're quick to start
and treat arguements just like a gunfight
as we try to shoot right for the heart.
Please use words with a lot of caution
for they have the power to sting and maim
sorry's may not close their bullet holes
for the hurt they cause, is just the same.
