Actress Lyrics by Chrissy Metz

Feel Good - EP

2020

[Verse 1]
I told him, "It's good to see you"
I told her, "It's nice to meet you"
I even said how much I liked her dress
When she asked him how he knew me
A million memories came back to me
And all he said was I was just a friend
[Chorus]
Thank God I'm an actress
He don't know what's on my mind
And even though I'm laughin'
I ain't havin' a good time
And that's the real him happy
But for me it's just a lie
He won't ever know, ever know, tonight
Thank God I'm an actress
[Verse 2]
Thinking 'bout that three day weekend
Ain't been back to NYC since
But I've still got that picture in a drawer
Asked him if we'd last forever at that hotel in Tribeca
Guess I don't have to wonder any more
[Chorus]
Thank God I'm an actress
He don't know what's on my mind
And even though I'm laughin'
Well, I ain't havin' a good time
And that's the real him happy
But for me it's just a lie
He won't ever know, ever know, tonight
Thank God I'm an actress
[Break: Guitar Solo]
[Bridge]
I just, I catch my breath, turn it on
And act like he ain't all I want
Wish there were cameras on me now
'Cause damn it, this would be my moment
[Chorus]
Thank God I'm an actress
He won't know what's on my mind
And even though I'm laughin'
I ain't havin' a good time
And that's the real him happy
But for me it's just a lie
And he won't ever know, ever know, tonight
Thank God I'm an actress
[Outro]
Thank God I'm an actress
