City of broken crowns Lyrics by Christopher Sone Franklin

2018

Chorus 1
They put a crown on your head but I frown because it's made of Throne
There's no price you can pay for my life because he paid it all
There's no plane in the sky that's designed to take me home
In my dreams I see broken crowns beneath your throne
But they don't know about it
Verse 1
He said that Jesus made him
Amazed at his daddy's raising
He never met the father or bother to make a statement
Not even face-to-face it's something that can make or break him
The flesh is taking over his silence can make him angry
His heart is vacant there's no taking a step
His real father never bothered at the things that he said
He was too busy selling oil Money Power Respect
And gaining his intellect was like turning gold into lead
Just for the crown on his head
He layed down all his respect
Because no Sovereign can be prophet in the town that their bread
Now let me take you on a walk he took step by step
He's on the air to be thrown
But have no air in his breath
He has a lifetime of right Minds making him spoil
But through the soil Man he might find he's striking oil
But through the trials he turns blind I'd knowing no loyal
And through the pipelines he might find he's losing his morals
Let's take a trip through the city of broken crowns
There's not a sound to be heard for miles and miles
They throw their crowns at his feet they see his power
And take the Thorns off his head and lay him down
Course 2
They put a crown on your head but I frown because it's made of Thorns
There's no price you can pay for my life because he paid it all
There's no plane in the sky that's designed to take me home
In my dreams I see broken crowns beneath your throne
But they don't know about it
Bridge
What you know about them broken crowns
What you know about them broken crowns
They don't know about it
What you know about them broken crowns
What you know about them broken crowns
They all know about it
Verse 2
He lost his Pops to the devil's ways
His mom's at the Pearly Gates
I guess you can say he's stuck in between on the way to be
On one hand he wants to live up to his legacy
But on the other here's his mother telling him to be
What you're meant to be son follow your dreams
In the city with no pity man it's hard to be king
Selling oil strikes Wars so it's hard to make peace
And everybody's wearing crowns so it's hard to be seen
I see babies get aborted
Cause there's mother can't afford them
Now my life is flashing back
When my mother was the Poor one
Thank you mother being stronger
Save my life in the long run
Now my dreams are two fruition and God's plans are appointed
Now Church's get abandoned
Cause the preachers can't afford them
Now my life is flashing back
When Jesus was the poor one
Oh Lord please show them
We're going back full circle
And distractions that we have
Is the devil trying to hurt us
Let's take a trip through the city of broken crowns
You hear Applause through the city for Miles and Miles
They put a crown on his head they see his power
And then he walks out the tune and takes a bow
Course 3
They put a crown on your head but I frown because it's made of Throne
There's no price you can pay for my life because he paid it all
There's no plane in the sky that's designed to take me home
In my dreams I see broken crowns beneath your throne
But they don't know about it
