Open Your Eyes Lyrics by CJay

Overstanding

2013

[Verse 1: CJay]
I see a world with a government that lies to the public
And who claims democratic and at times a republican
And lately you citizens trynna rub it in don't shame me but blame me for trynna understand
Don't like to learn it cuz i ain't concerned with politics
You know what knowledge is cuz you graduated from certain colleges?
Blacks don't wanna learn unless they earn a scholarship
If not going to school was a rule they'll learn to follow it
I'm trynna ask these blacks what the 'f' you doing?
Cuz we learned to be treated like nothing less than human
I'm saying for years we suffered severe pain
Forced to sit in the backseat of buses and airplanes
Nowadays people will sell they soul for the paper
You need advice so take Jesus Christ as your lord and savior
I knew it, all they told us was lies and you will see it once you open your eyes
[Hook 1: CJayy]
Got to open your eyes and realize (lies)
Got to open your eyes and realize (lies)
[Verse 2: CJay]
And just for the record son ain't it ironic how Nas is God's son, Big L's the devil's son
That shows you legends have a resemblance of some kind
But they have a distinct style, flow and a punchline
You rappers should
Be unsigned cuz y'all ain't got the heart to do it
All you make is hits off silly dances and party music
I'm bout to make these rappers wish they never had fame
Cuz they giving us real emcees a bad name
You lames love to talk about the things you never did
So label me as one of the greatest lyricists who ever lived
And Noex is a legend as well
We reppin' us and we reppin' it well
Rappers changing they style when they get famous so they fans is upset
Showing lack of respect that's a bad example to set
We suppose to do right cuz all of us is hopin' to rise and you will see it once you open your eyes
[Hook 2: CJay]
Repeat
[Verse 3: CJay]
Life is nothing cool but living it is a rule
Every morning I have to take a city bus to school
That ain't nothing compared to what I've seen and witnessed about Africans; their life is what seems realistic
Especially in Uganda, they giving kids weapons, Smith/Wessons
Rib checkin' above the midsection
This happens everywhere it ain't only in Africa
Could you imagine a world without the massacre?
(No) should we panic cuz blacks are wooly mammoths?
We're becoming extinct from the planet, we'll fully vanish
We do some damage overseas; reduce the average
What's sad is Americans don't know how good we have it
Let's take this dark world and give it light
If one ain't living right then we all ain't living right
Cuz peace is a ghost in disguise and you'll see it once you open your eyes
[Outro: CJay]
Born in the 93
20 years later you got me
Real Prophecy
Real Hip Hop lives underground
Know what you gotta open your eyes and realize
Killuminati
Open Your Eyes
Realize...
