Island Lyrics by Clayton Shay

2022

[Intro]
Woah yeah
[Verse 1]
I know my passport photo don't look a thing like me
I'll take a seat by the window if it ain't too hard to swing
Gonna play some roulette with a passenger jet
Swipe my visa and I'm good as gone
I've got no bags to check
Broken heart in my chest is the only thing I carry on
[Chorus]
When I go wheels up
Hope I touch down
In a low tide seaside kinda beach town
With palm trees and strong drinks
And a couple thousand miles between her and me
I really didn't think this through
No put me on the next flight and I'll go
Just hoping that I land
Somewhere on an island
[Verse 2]
I can learn the language enough to just say "onе more"
Maybe turn this pain into rum buzzin' by the shorе
Yeah I need a vacation from my situation
A one way is just fine with me
Tropical destination is the medication I need
[Chorus]
When I go wheels up
Hope I touch down
In a low tide seaside kinda beach town
With palm trees and strong drinks
And a couple thousand miles between her and me
I really didn't think this through
No put me on the next flight and I'll go
Just hoping that I land
Somewhere on an island
[Bridge]
Somewhere on an island far away
I know that the second I board that plane
Yeah I'll be fine, I'll take to the skies
And leave her goodbye sitting at that gate
[Chorus]
When I go wheels up
Hope I touch down
In a low tide seaside kinda beach town
With palm trees and strong drinks
And a couple thousand miles between her and me
I really didn't think this through
No put me on the next flight and I'll go
Just hoping that I land
On my feet in some white sand
Yeah hoping that I land
Somewhere on an island
Somewhere on an island
