Color of Music Lyrics by Criss Jami

2016

Right now
Life is what's up
But not without my brightest of loves un-
Like some countdown from the sum of "just quite alright" while
I'm writing the right songs
Psalms but to some they're not in the slightest the rite thus
Untying their knots a-
Climbing 'cross the top
(The grade I get for it all, fail? I'll never fall)
The writing's on the walls
It's like this sarcasm rots
Shocked? yeah I get that a lot, haha
Like I'm the one who got it wrong, not
So there, rock on
(And don't stall)
Rhyming, it's time for shots
(Size tall, or is that small? well, we'll call the mall)
Now how do I light it alight
Okay, be quiet alright
Just(ly) enjoy the ride
My oh my, pride I'm striding along
The track alternating
With his hip and a hop
Yeah he crossed the country and faced the new waves, this
Punk rode them and became a rebel
Went from rock to hard rock then traveled
Baby, metal to heavy metal
Peddling pedal to the metal and
And spreading petals to let him settle
She popped gum, guns and later reveled in the mellow
It's those melodies
Testing me in that they made her next medals, those
Are level yellow
Oh baby take me, this senseless Hella-fellow
Yeah to maybe a place away
From where mace gets sprayed in my face
To where this treble isn't trouble
Now how do I light it at night
Okay, be quiet alright
My oh my, I'm wind-piping a song
Where I like writing senseless
It's my invention to be cryptic
Telling tales of the way I crept in and kept it misfit
Unkempt and did I mention it's intentional it's
Conventional to miss the point yet pull my lever
Meddle and read the reddest letter
And yes it gets better
Let her
Say my brain may be severely severed, avenged
Yeah baby let's bet it
Even though at least sevenfold we know
Oh my soul is what's known to be the one reckless
Unless from blues it gets better
As in for better or for worse before it gets lessened
Assigned it's asinine tests for an ironclad man like me
Rest on the chest of one far from the best
Far from even just genius and set me free
A compliment is what really seems to impair me
Oh yeah darling
They're distractions
So come pair with me and
Stare ensnared with those of us, the crazy
Now how do I light it alight
Okay be quiet alright
My oh my, I'm stringing along be-
Cause your love is crashing into me, from speed to a magical melody
Like cops dashing
Stopped the mad scene, the clash that smashes
Our first and last mash-up that matched us
(Patch me up baby, my scratches
Can they even catch us or snatch us?)
To a bloody classic, thrashing metal from ashes to lashes
Rehashing back the bashes and my gnashing of teeth
As slashes trace at the speed of a drag race coming, facing right at me you see
That's immediately and not meaning slightly or slowly
But just another flashy analogy flowing
(An oldie going far)
But still you instill these tracks of you and your absolute gravity
(Growing, glowing from afar)
Salute Love, the admiral I admire thee and you know me
Much more than a pat on the back
She must patrol and troll, snowing down on me
Yet again we're meant to be set free
Waiting for your love figuratively though now it seems
We've figured it out to be the shape of our graven image
These melodic deathly scenes
(Where there's art in it, installed in the seams)
Now how do I light it alight
Saying no, please be quiet alright
Pride, go slide to the side
My oh my, I'm singing a song
And her love can make a way for me
Or my brain it shuts off
Color me bad saying bye-bye, tonight I dye
Baby love has made a way
Or this chain then cuts all
Lay me goodnight, divided eye to eye I lie
So folks, that's all
Closed, it's the good old color of music (its clothes)
Now bow, hats off
