Silent Victim Lyrics by Cutiejea

2020

[Intro]
I’m tired of being silent
My voice must be heard
Time to share my story
About how I was hurt
I'm tired of running
I'm tired of hiding
So just sit down
And listen
[Part 1]
I was sentenced to death when I was young
From a boy that took something of mine, that he didn’t own
Later on I was harassed from plenty of other guys
People in my grade, saw me as prey, and I couldn’t run away
They attempted to touch me during the end of class
Said no but sadly it wasn’t enough
So much more has happened as time went on
Like bottles thrown to my head, and bounty for my death
But did something happened, NO
It was just brushed off
Told me to let go, ignore it, and just move on
And all this happened since I was 12
I’m was just 12
[Part 2]
And now lets Fast forward to senior year
Big goals, big dreams, all within my reach
But all of that changed and was later pushed away
From the guys I’d wind up seeing each and every day
Catcalled left and right
Later call me a psychopath
They Bullied and public shamed
Turned my misery into a game
And How can you encourage girls to take a STEM course
When the dudes in the class keep asking for intercourse
Did it look like i wanted to see 2 dudes strip
No, but guess what, they did and everyone cheered
And yet you say treat the girls
Like they’re you’re kids
You preach that you guys
Are so much better than this
But all I hear is from that is just hypocrisy
“Protect the girls in campus”, yet you don't practise what you preach
It’s hard to let go something that scared you to life
Even my own boyfriend has to remind me that everything’s alright
It took me years to realise about the pain you’ve done
Needed to pay for own session due to the impact it caused
And whenever I try - to speak out about this
You convince me that it’s just a joke then later ask for a kiss
Well now, I’m speaking out, I won't take it
I'm now tired of being the silent victim
As the people in this world think what I say false
Even my own family, think I’m just making shit up
I’m telling you now, Something must change
Especially now in this day and age
Or else more girls will get hurt and the cycle will remain
The same
[Outro]
I’m tired of being silent
My voice must be heard
Time to share my story
About how I was hurt
I'm tired of running
I'm tired of hiding
So just sit down
And listen
