U R The Best Thing Lyrics by D:Ream (Group)

D:Ream On Vol. 1

1993

[Verse 1]
My simple heart will live and learn
I took a chance at the price my soul would burn
Inside my desire, yeah
I put the question down on my knee
No pretty thought that would satisfy my need
I need hope, give me hope, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
So then I run from home in search of friendship
They wouldn't last 'cause they weren't right, not like you
[Chorus]
You're the best thing I ever had
Kind of feeling I've been searching for at last
You're the best thing, see me through
I never thought that any love could be so true
I've found true love, I've found true love
(Oh oh yeah, yeah, hey, I've found true love)
[Verse 2]
And standing here they passed me by
And they were wasted, cold, and empty deep inside
I would hope, let me die here
And you may ask where are they now
Just look around you, lift your head above the crowd
I know now what I didn't know then, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
So then I run from home in search of friendships
That wouldn't last 'cause they weren't right, not like you
[Chorus]
You're the best thing I ever had
Kind of feeling I've been searching for at last
You're the best thing, see me through
I never thought that any love could be so true
I've found true love, I've found true love
(Oh oh yeah, yeah, hey, I've found true love)
[Chorus & Outro]
You're the best thing, you're the best thing
You're the best thing, come see me through
I never thought that any love could be so true
I've found true love, I've found true love
(Oh oh yeah, whoa, hey, I've found true love)
