“Jet-Black Skylines” Lyrics by Dagger$ (USA)

Tomahawk Jam$: SLAM Poetry

2014

[Verse 1: Dagger$]
Jet black skylines filled with city lights//
This where the sun rise, where Jets take flight//
This my first time, on the west side//
Palm trees really grow from the sunshine//
It doesn't rain, so I can pack light//
Still bring a hoody, for them cold nights//
And I'm still reminiscing over Trayvon's life//
Southern California, on pacific time//
In dying need, of medical weed
Like where's the E-M-T?//
Free will like, the spare in the S-U-V//
Passport got stamps like E-B-T's//
Cause it's destine to live life over seas//
And cross boarders to a Spanish speaking country//
Cuernavaca where Mayans did astrology//
Constellation sightings, my God I see//
Stars aligning, what's in the galaxy?//
[Chorus:Dagger$]
Fallen stars?, Bermuda triangles?//
Triangle offense, with guardian angles?//
Crossroads to crossover like a broken ankle?//
Questions I ask myself looking out this glass window//
[Verse 2:Dagger$]
I pray for my enemies with rosaries//
I don't see how egos flare, when smoking weed//
Loud mouth ya cotton mouth speak a dry speech//
Cops book, the best sellers in the streets//
Them street dreams is over, the hustle never is//
I'm trynna be the grower, planting my feet in//
Hide your emotions, you so sensitive//
Through ya negligence, I ask myself this//
Who gone stick around?, who gone stay loyal//
Who gone up and leave, which snake gone uncoil?//
Who can't stand the heat, that makes bad blood boil?//
Who gone envy you, who gone enjoy you?//
Show you how to move in a room full of vultures//
On my ten toes, in All-Star converse//
I don't make noise, ugh, I'm very somber//
Keep a positive outlook, with the mantras//
[Chorus:Dagger$]
Fallen stars?, Bermuda triangles?//
Triangle offence, with guardian angles?//
Crossroads to crossover like a broken ankle?//
Questions I ask myself looking out this glass window//
