When you wanna be an artist Lyrics by Daniel Thrasher

2020

[SKETCH]
Staan: Hello, Daniel
Daniel: Satan?
Staan: Now, what would make you think that?
Daniel: The horns
Staan: Don’t be silly, I’m not Satan, I’m Staan
Daniel: Oh, that’s different!
Staan: Anyway, wanna make a deal?
Daniel: What... kind of deal?
Staan: I’m glad you asked!
Staan: 5... 6.. .7... 8...
[STAAN]
Hey kid, I hear that you wanna be an artist
(Yep, it’s what I put on the quiz!)
It’s not gonna go so well... if I’m being honest
(Well, that’s kinda rude)
Your family will worry about what you do
(That seems healthy)
You will be broke until your days are through
(Really?)
Financially speaking, you'll be so screwed
It’s not the fulfilling life you were promised
Unless you sign on the line of this contract
(Financial gain)
I can ease your mind; you’ll be fine with this contract
(Pen on your name)
You’ll be like a king with the world on a string with this contract
(Sign in blood)
Just abandon your home, grab your phone, die alone with this contract
[SKETCH]
Daniel: Did you say I will be famous?
Staan: Sure did!
Daniel: Neat! Can I sign it now?
Staan: Uhh, you could. I just... I have a lot more song to get through
Daniel: No, I’m good. I’ll sign it now!
Staan: Just one more thing, you must sign-
Daniel: -in blood, right?
Staan: Uh...
Daniel: is A-negative okay? Because I’m- I’m really ready to go
Staan: Uh, 5...6...7...8...
[STAAN]
Just know that fame comes with a price
When everyone treats you so nice
When everything fits like a glove
You’ll never let yourself find love
(Why is that?)
Is it love or are they lying?
As long as you're rich, someone is trying
And when those pockets finally dry
You’ll be alone for when you die
(When you die, when you die, when you die... x6)
Your parents will abuse you
Your friends will abuse you
We hope you're alright with that
[SKETCH]
Daniel: Okay, but like, in my lifetime, though, I will be rich, yes? And famous?
Staan: yeah, but I don’t think you're getting the point
Staan: usually there’s more... pushback
Daniel: Nah, I’m good dude. Actually, I brought my own knife, so I’m just gonna do a little stabby-stabby, and then sign the papers, and were good
Staan: Actually, I don’t... I don’t think you're ready
Staan: I don’t think you’ve fully understand-
(Daniel stabs himself)
Staan: Woah, WOAH! Hey, Hey...
(Daniel continues stabbing himself)
Staan: Dude, calm down. I don’t need that much blood! Oh my god...
God: Yeah?
Staan: Nope, sorry. I didn’t actually need you
God: oh, I thought...
Staan: No, no...
