The Promise Of Heaven Lyrics by Debbie Sims

The Promise Of Heaven

1987

When I am weary, You are there
To ease my heavy load
When my path is rocky,You are there
To smooth out every road
When my heart is aching,You are there
To wipe away my tears
When I am apprehensive,You are there
To dispel my doubts and fears
Chorus:
When I was one of those women in prison
You came by to unlock the gate
When I'm cast down, you lead me to the promise of heaven
When I was a woman in chains
You came along and set me free
When you look into my eyes, there is a promise of heaven
When I'm, oh, so cold inside
And I feel like I'm under the weather over you
You help me survive and lead me to the promise of heaven
When I am lonely,You are there
To keep me company
When I feel imprisoned,You are there
To set my locked heart free
When I am sick, You are there
To make my body well once more
When I am depressed,You are there
To lift my spirits and make them soar
When there is anger, You are there
To remove all of the strife
And when it's time for me to go
You've promised me Eternal life
Repeat Chorus
Savior, please tell me now what I must do
Your goodness to repay
He answered,"Just believe in Me
There is no other way."
When my heart becomes a failure, You put heaven in my heart
'Cause behind the sun
Heaven is a place of perfect joy forever
Repeat Chorus
