Island Lyrics by DG the Artist

Ego Death

2023

[Intro: DG the Artist]
Yeah
[Chorus: DG the Artist]
On the island, yeah you know I got it, huh
On the island, yeah you know I got it
On the island, yeah you know I got it, huh
On my island, you can't get beside it, no
On my island, you are so damn frightenin', huh (Yeah, yeah)
On the flight back, thought I saw the lightnin', huh
Blackin' out man, where the fuck the light switch
Take me back fast, take me to my island
[Verse 1: DG the Artist]
Stare at the ocean, days on days on days on days on days on days
When you come by it feel like change on change on change on change on change
I need a minute alone
I need to get in my zone
No I won't pick up the phone
No I won't pick up the phone
This is my time and my space
Takin' some fruit from the tree
Stare at the moon while I eat
People might think I'm deceased
Really I'm livin' my dream
I gotta do this in pieces
I know that this isn't fair
Hope when I'm back that you there
Really I just wanna share
I know you don't really care
But I'ma act unaware
Huh, yeah
[Chorus: DG the Artist]
On the island, yeah you know I got it, huh (Yeah, yeah)
On the island, yeah you know I got it (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
On the island, yeah you know I got it, huh (Yeah, yeah)
On my island, you can't get beside it, no
On my island, you are so damn frightenin', huh (So damn frightenin')
On the flight back, thought I saw the lightnin', huh
Blackin' out man, where the fuck the light switch, huh
Take me back fast, take me to my island
[Verse 2: DG the Artist]
Okay
Up in the air on a twenty hour flight (What?)
Life is a game and the game is my life (Okay, okay)
Thinkin' 'bout home and the base hella tight (What?)
But it just can't compete with the stage and the lights (Yuh, yuh)
Wanna grab dinner at a place that I know (Woo)
But this place isn't home
I just need to be alone for a minute (Yuh)
No time so I'll skip it (Yuh)
Fast paced life that I'm livin', uh (Okay)
[Verse 3: DG the Artist]
Too many days out
I gotta recharge
I'm really too far
2 AM, I should not be awake
3 AM, I should not be awake
Miss the sunrise
When I'm there I tend to miss my love life
When I'm signed I bet I'll miss the unsigned days and unsigned ways
And aren't I ungrateful
Aren't I impatient
I need a break
Yeah, yeah
I need a break
[Bridge: DG the Artist and Jilly Rose]
On the island
You know I got it (Ah, ah, ah)
You know I got it when I'm on my island (Ah, ah, ah)
Yeah, on my island you know I got it (Ah, ah, ah)
You know I got it when I'm on my island, yeah (Ah, ah, ah)
Yeah
You know I got it (Ah, ah, ahh)
On my island, you know I got it (Ah, ah, ahh)
You know I got it
Man I need my island (Ah, ah, ahh)
Man I need my island (Ah, ah, ahh)
[Outro: Jilly Rose]
You can find me on my island
Keep your distance, we ain't vibin'
You can find me on my island (Ah, ah, ahh, ah, ah, ahh)
Ah, ah, ahh
Ah, ah, ahh
