Rise Or Fall Lyrics by D-Mac (Rapper)

2019

Chorus)
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon’ fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon’ rise or you gon' fall?
When your back's against the wall? aye aye aye
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon’ fall?
When your back’s against the wall?
Cuz all I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
Cuz all I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
(Verse 1)
I flicked a quarter in the water and hoped for some Jordans
Mama couldn't afford them, Daddy bought Pippen’s on Christmas
I guess that made up for the fact he wasn't there to play catch
When I faced boredom ended up writing raps with David & Gordon
Chasing dreams, you'll see people who stop supporting
But you don't need their help, don’t give up on yourself
Telling my reflection during pep talks
Gathering affirmations in ted talks
The hood fucked up my mental health (The hood fucked up my mental health)
But taught me how to defend myself, how to fend for myself
See I got robbed when I was 9 for my silver chain
It left me traumatized let me explain
The imagery of dreads and golds reminded me of my robber
Heart slowly filled with fear and that became the problem
Because the fear became anger
Which made me nonchalant to all danger
At 15, tugging on bangers, mugging at strangers
Hung with the gangsters, til' it all faded away
Lost in the system or murder victims and thats why I'm jaded today
I try to find my friends but they're blowing in the wind
Gloomy days, clouds are gray, I'm hoping they would end
Another cup of rely clearly I'm intoxicated
Sadness and liquor, such a terrible combination
I just wanna be successful
Dealing with failure can be so stressful
But I accept it and respect it, move forward towards my play
Nobody can hold me down, no one can stand in my way
I know they're counting me out, don't give a fuck what they say
Through all of your shit just smile, & know you gon' be ok
When your...
(Chorus)
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
When your back's against the wall? aye aye aye
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
Back against the wall, Is you gon' rise or you gon' fall?
When your back's against the wall? aye aye aye
Cuz all I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
Cuz all I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
(Outro)
All I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
All I see is rain, All i feel is pain
I just pray for change, I just pray for change
