Working on Wall Street Lyrics by Ecg The Conduit

Eat What You Kill

2017

They say the planet is a spec of dust
The mind is a universe
I could tell you how that weed tastes
I could show you how that lucy works
I'm just trying to make it real again
Find the wonder that i used to know
I shrank enough to blend a bit
But now i think id rather grow
Lost in the land of oz
Dogma in my hymn I am god
Or maybe thats backwards
In the back of the math class learning how to factor
I found rapture, yeah I found rapture
Irrational games I keep playing
But things all change when you see them through that looking glass
I see you looking with your looking ass
Thats that 101 I'll take it back to the basics before I'm done
I'm trying to break it all down, 0's and 1's
I'd rather go blind trying to study the sun
Than sit around eyes shut stuck where I'm from
Different cell same body I'm far from young
And yet I'v barley begun
See the planet is not a spec of dust
If the mind is a universe
I could tell you how that weed tastes
I could show you how that lucy works
I'm just trying to make it real again
Find the wonder that i used to know
I shrank enough to blend a bit
But now I think id rather grow
Will I ever really learn to listen
No sir Panic is a basic in a prison
Or maybe thats backwards
In the back of the math class tuning out laughter
I went faster yeah I went faster
But now I'm half crazed
Lost in a maze
No idea what I'm after
The art of artificial gods
Orchestrated facades
Its an arbitrary paradise
Perfection for the paralyzed
Apparently we're parasites if these are ordinary lives
Look inside and see extraordinary lies
I'm here to verify though you very clearly tried
You missed the bigger picture for the most apparent prize
They say the planet is a spec of dust
The mind is a universe
I could tell you how that weed tastes
I could show you how that lucy works
I'm just trying to make it real again
Find the wonder that i used to know
I shrank enough to blend a bit
But now i think id rather grow
Ultimately, we all have to decide for ourselves what constitutes failure, but the world is quite eager to give you a set of criteria if you let it. So I think it fair to say that by any conventional measure,(skip a few)I had no idea then how far the tunnel extended, and for a long time, any light at the end of it was a hope rather than a reality. So why do I talk about the benefits of failure? Simply because failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me
