Come On Lyrics by Ego Ella May

So Far

2019

[Verse 1]
I sit down to watch BET
And a rapper comes on called Dom Kennedy
Something he said really stuck to me
He said ‘if you don’t know my name by now
I ain't working hard enough’
[Verse 2]
Then I got off the chair and went to my bed
Must konked out 'cos the next thing I knew
I was out of my head
Talking to a man with skin soft like cotton
And with a tone so rare I had no choice but to listen
[Chorus]
He said come on come on you know you got something
Come on come there's work to do
Come on come on don’t make the people wait
Come on come on get over you
It’s more than you
[Verse 3]
I wallowed in self pity for too long
Wanted to be noticed but had nothing going on
Longed to be heard
Compared myself to others which I knew was so absurd
Still I found it getting worse
Then daddy said to me
I didn’t name you after Ella Fitzgerald for me
I did it for the world to see
You are in your own league
But you gotta put the work in
Focus on your dreams...
[Chorus]
Come on come on you know you got something
Come on come there's work to do
Come on come on don’t make the people wait
Come on come on get over you
It’s more than you
[Outro]
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard enough, hard enough
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard
If you don't know my name by now, I ain't working hard enough, hard enough
