South Side Lyrics by E.K. Bush

0

here i sit in the middle of the ghetto
and i hear no music, no playing cello
that is saved for the rich street, lindel
lines of houses ignite Section 8 kindel
i wish i could keep shut, but its not right
no one likes to look cross eyed in spite
can i call on J and say you like Shay-Z
because you’re recent LP is rapping lazy
you alright, J you sit high on the throne
can you help fight the addicts on the stone
or you re just rap about the past
and use that as a right to justfiy the cast
on the broken values of the lost society
drunk on the tube, no edu, no sobriety
my jet cannot climb, cause now i see
no longer blind, jump the job, now free
to speak my mind, catching that ball
in the game, all the same, now im sane
no more cubicle hell, time to go sell
in the streets, for myself & health
is top priority and avoid that sorority
of women, just trouble, no stubble
on my beard, clean as a whistle
pull the horn, then train so loud
break down, armed to the teeth, my pistol
of words that i fire into the crowd
man, if my dad could see now, so proud
back to the point, we treat drugs like crimes
ignore all research, disease it gives signs
that they are humans, just people and weak
against the chemical impacts on the brain
with no weapons to fight and no time to train
cause no teachers with features and tryin
to survive in the back alleys or end of lying
on the ground, no sound, only police siren
in the air, no family, no friends carin
this is what i see from my window
little boys/girls, no books, nintendo
to play, mario time, but no parentals
to feed them right, no supplementals
to the McaDeeys, and pop eyes chicken
which is fake, no mistaken, it will sicken
so slowly over time, hard to see, slow
to grow these little kids, but it will show
this is sad and depressing, rain now fallen
on my dreams, trapped black clouds feel so sullen
i could keep up this rhyme, but no more time…father is fallin.
