The Family of Abraham Lyrics by Eleventh Hour Worship

The Family of Abraham (EP) - Single

2023

Just an old man looking, to the sky above
A weary traveler, longing for a son
With a barren wife whose bearing years are gone
He heard a voice spoken, from a mighty God
Do you see these stars, that you gaze upon
Your descendants will, outnumber them
And the ground your feet, are standing on
Is yours, and your wife, is gonna have a son
[Chorus]
And He said, Abraham, you have My word
I will not break, our covenant
Oh, Abraham, the time will come
Your offspring shall, know me as their God
Well, time went on, and that old man aged
Thought he had to make it happen
In his own way
Tryin' to make sense, of what God had said
Found himself, in a servant's bed
When God had sent, the promised son
That servant girl, and her little one
Were exiled to the wilderness
And Almighty God, he appeared to them
[Chorus]
And He said, daughter, you have My Word
I will not break my promises
Oh, daughter, you're not alone
I see you there, I see your son
(I see You there)
Those two brothers, went head to head
Fighting over, daddy's inheritance
And that war, is still waging on
Taking lives, and dropping bombs
But that's not how the story ends
'Cause God will keep His promises
Oh, how He loves the both of them
[Tag]
He'll restore the family, of Abraham
